Relive does it again!

We are proud to announce that we have won our second award in a year.  This team we have been honoured by the Christian Broadcasting Council in the catagory of BEST CHILDREN"S PROGRAMME.

At a gala awards ceromony, James and Matt from Relive were their to receive the award from well know comedian Tim Vine.  During his acceptance speech, James commented "It is a real honour to receive this prestigious award from the CBC.  We never intended to win awards through Relive.  Our heart has always been to bring the Bible to life for children in schools and churches.  This award spurs us on to bigger and better things".

Matt and James also thanked everyone involved, including UCB TV who have been airing the films on a regular basis for the best part of a year.

Thank you to all your support.  He sincerely hope that this will lead us on to greater things!

Relive Easter

by James Hamilton

Review includes that for Relive Miracles available from the same source at the same price.

These multimedia box sets include CD-ROM resources for Churches and 2 DVDs that journey through the Easter story in six short film clips and two DVDs that reflect upon Jesus’ love and compassion for the world expressed through miracles. The films are shot in contemporary contexts providing a new perspective upon familiar biblical stories whilst staying true to scripture. Each has its own optional introduction to set the scene but can have more impact without this being used. The compelling personal stories, retold by real people, help to highlight the emotions felt by those involved and explore the potential consequences of Jesus’ actions. They encourage the viewer to question Who is this Jesus? Why did he do these things? What else can he do? The resources take some traditional approaches, ie: memory verses and creative prayer ideas and give a clear lesson plan showing how to include the film within a Sunday school lesson and providing supplementary material and games for developing the theme throughout the session. The craft activities focus upon a key object from the story with clear instructions for assembly and templates included. A further object talk is offered to support the use of a film within a family service. This reinforces the key themes and provides illustrations to involve participation from the congregation. The personal witness account telling the story in each film holds the viewer’s attention and helps them connect in a new way to Jesus; it is this that makes these sets meaningful resources that can be used at many different levels.

16 performances, 5,000 people, one man, one story

5th November 2010

James Performing to schoolchildren     James performing at a kids club

James Hamilton recently had the privilege of touring Qatar and throughout the UAE with his stunning new one-man storytelling play entitled "The Fisherman's Friend".

In partnership with Grain de ble, Lebanon and The Bible Society, this tour was was able to introduce thousands of children and adults to the gospel story through the eyes of 'Peter the Disciple'.  James told the stories (in character) of Peter being called to follow, Jesus and the miraculous catch of fish, Jesus calming the storm, Peter walking on water, Peter's denial and Breakfast on the Beach.

The interactive storytelling was accompanied by the showing of Relive films including Blind Bartimaeus and By the Pool.

James also had the opportunity to train school teachers and kids club leaders in how to use drama and storytelling with children.

This was an extremely successful (and exhausting) tour and James looks forward to returning again soon.
